This adventure begins with a scenic drive up to the highest point in the northern sierra of Oaxaca. Here, we will start our morning with a wonderful homemade breakfast in the community restaurant of Cuajimoloyas. Our ride will begin at 3,200 meters (10,500 feet) above sea level, descending about 1,500 meters (5,000 feet) through the picturesque mountain vegetation into the valley of Tlacolula. Passing through different communities in Teotitlan del Valle, we will visit the house of a silk making family, the beautiful town center for lunch, and continue our bike ride into the town of Macuilxochitl. From there, we will commence the ride in the old town of Dainzu where you will have an opportunity to explore a Zapotec archeological site dating back to 600 BC.
